Note from Nancy: Who Is Calling?

Dear Friends,

I was reading the Word tonight and I believe the Lord led me to these specific scriptures as I was praying and considering His leading on this up and coming conference in Ketchikan, Ak. Sept. 24-27th.

It’s very fitting for the hour…
Who is that calling?  …Remember the story of the boy Samuel who heard a voice in the night call his name?   It awakened him and made him try to figure out who was calling him.  First, he went to Eli, the priest to whom he had been given by his mother, and said, “Here I am.  What do you want?”

“I didn’t call you,” Old Eli, answered.  Then the Lord called Samuel again and again,  “Samuel, Samuel.”  Eli told him to go back to bed and listen to the voice, for it was the Lord who was calling him.  So, Samuel went to bed and listened.  Then the Lord spoke to him of the future.  And, Samuel become know as a prophet. (1 Sam. 3:1-21) The Lord wants to pour out His Spirit on all of us to hear.

I remember being alone doing whatever was pleasing me at the time—-reading, writing, daydreaming, when I would heard a voice.  Often, I listened closely to figure out who it might be.  Of course when I was young, it was possibly the teacher, parents, etc…usually calling me out to come or go some place…that was when I was young.   But after I became a committed Christian and learn to pray, to be still and wait and listen, I often prayed, “speak to me Lord and tell me what I should do.”  We must learn to hear God’s voice and respond to His Spirit  (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:39).

After reading about Samuel and Eli, I saw a reference that lead me to another familiar story of Barnabas and Saul and I was amazed.  “They were worshiping and fasting.  It was then that the Holy Spirit called them to “go.”  While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,  “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them” (Acts 13:2).  Well isn’t our theme for 2014, “The Sound of the Lord, Listen!”  And, Listen is an Action Word!

Both these stories lead me to hear a Sound… Its call is to invite, to stir up,  all of you who want to join me in a fast and prayer…a call to join the other intercessors in Ketchikan who have been gathering and praying every week for several weeks for the PTH Team, the Workshop Speakers, Worship Team and Intercessors and all the Helpers and Hosts and Hostesses.   All the planning for the up and coming ministry and Conference in Ketchikan, Sept. 24 (prayer rally) 25-27 Conference.

If you hear this Sound, Call,  this Rallying the Troops, and choose to join us.  Please feel free to adjust times and dates of your prayer, fast, one or both as you are led by the call “this sound” to pray, lead by the Holy Spirit for South East Alaska and especially Ketchikan and the Conference.  We are all looking forward to our prayer time over the next two weeks, and beyond as lead by the Spirit.  We are expecting the Holy Spirit to show up like He always does.  We are expecting Revival, Redemption, Salvations, Healings, and Deliverances by the sustaining Hand of the Lord,  because we have been listening to the Sounds of the Lord and we are preparing.  And, when we shall leave that place it shall never be the same again, Amen!

We invite you all to come, if possible.  The meetings will be held at First Assembly of God in Ketchikan…

Please especially keep Debbie Andreas and Team in Ketchikan lifted before the Lord, as well.

If you have time drop us a line and let us know you are joining us in prayer and or attendance.  We certainly welcome you!

Thank you ,
Love and Blessings,
Nancy Haney
