Note from Nancy: Who Is Calling?

Dear Friends,

I was reading the Word tonight and I believe the Lord led me to these specific scriptures as I was praying and considering His leading on this up and coming conference in Ketchikan, Ak. Sept. 24-27th.

It’s very fitting for the hour…
Who is that calling?  …Remember the story of the boy Samuel who heard a voice in the night call his name?   It awakened him and made him try to figure out who was calling him.  First, he went to Eli, the priest to whom he had been given by his mother, and said, “Here I am.  What do you want?”

“I didn’t call you,” Old Eli, answered.  Then the Lord called Samuel again and again,  “Samuel, Samuel.”  Eli told him to go back to bed and listen to the voice, for it was the Lord who was calling him.  So, Samuel went to bed and listened.  Then the Lord spoke to him of the future.  And, Samuel become know as a prophet. (1 Sam. 3:1-21) The Lord wants to pour out His Spirit on all of us to hear.

I remember being alone doing whatever was pleasing me at the time—-reading, writing, daydreaming, when I would heard a voice.  Often, I listened closely to figure out who it might be.  Of course when I was young, it was possibly the teacher, parents, etc…usually calling me out to come or go some place…that was when I was young.   But after I became a committed Christian and learn to pray, to be still and wait and listen, I often prayed, “speak to me Lord and tell me what I should do.”  We must learn to hear God’s voice and respond to His Spirit  (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:39).

After reading about Samuel and Eli, I saw a reference that lead me to another familiar story of Barnabas and Saul and I was amazed.  “They were worshiping and fasting.  It was then that the Holy Spirit called them to “go.”  While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,  “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them” (Acts 13:2).  Well isn’t our theme for 2014, “The Sound of the Lord, Listen!”  And, Listen is an Action Word!

Both these stories lead me to hear a Sound… Its call is to invite, to stir up,  all of you who want to join me in a fast and prayer…a call to join the other intercessors in Ketchikan who have been gathering and praying every week for several weeks for the PTH Team, the Workshop Speakers, Worship Team and Intercessors and all the Helpers and Hosts and Hostesses.   All the planning for the up and coming ministry and Conference in Ketchikan, Sept. 24 (prayer rally) 25-27 Conference.

If you hear this Sound, Call,  this Rallying the Troops, and choose to join us.  Please feel free to adjust times and dates of your prayer, fast, one or both as you are led by the call “this sound” to pray, lead by the Holy Spirit for South East Alaska and especially Ketchikan and the Conference.  We are all looking forward to our prayer time over the next two weeks, and beyond as lead by the Spirit.  We are expecting the Holy Spirit to show up like He always does.  We are expecting Revival, Redemption, Salvations, Healings, and Deliverances by the sustaining Hand of the Lord,  because we have been listening to the Sounds of the Lord and we are preparing.  And, when we shall leave that place it shall never be the same again, Amen!

We invite you all to come, if possible.  The meetings will be held at First Assembly of God in Ketchikan…

Please especially keep Debbie Andreas and Team in Ketchikan lifted before the Lord, as well.

If you have time drop us a line and let us know you are joining us in prayer and or attendance.  We certainly welcome you!

Thank you ,
Love and Blessings,
Nancy Haney

Grin & “Bear” It

bear

Bear:  This picture represents waiting, watching… Assemble the troops — rally the intercessors,  new battle plans for us are being written as I write!  These plans are for those that have ears to hear and obedient hearts for the advancement!  Facing the enemy straight on! The enemy will not see us because the shield of faith is upon us; And the full armor intact.  The victory is already written by the hand of The Lord!  The launching… Just watch and see with spiritual eyes, and you will Know what I mean!  DELIGHT IN MY PLANS… Delight in My will (Ps.40:8) …His plans will not be held back – it will always be done! (Dan 4:35).

Dear PTH Friends,

Last week Nancy sent the above picture including the word from the Lord of what the bear represents.  Furthermore, she said it was for ALL of us and will apply if we have ears to hear and obedient hearts.  Amen!

A few thoughts came to mind when I saw this picture.  The position of this photo depicts the fact that I (we) are proactive in our battle plan; Offensive! – His plans and purposes.  That should bring a grin to our faces.  If we are sensitive and alert we can be positioned by the leading of the Holy Spirit and He will give us a view to see the enemy; We see him first … or  receive warning of impeding danger.

Secondly, I couldn’t help but notice the bear is looking from a man-made structure; A guard rail designed to keep us on the straight and narrow through the curves and turns of our life’s travels.  Spiritually speaking, God has already established firm guard rails in His Word to help us every step of the way…. they are not of this world.  One being the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  “He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword.  Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.” (Deu. 29:b)  That is good news for sure … even though the enemy peers down from a high place God Word trumps him with ‘we will tread on the enemy’s heights’.  Yes, the victory is already written by the hand of the Lord.

Lastly, and quite simply, keep your focus on His road and don’t be distracted by what is along the wayside!

And about the bear …
Bear in mind:
“Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear.” (1 Sam. 17:36)
“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens.” (Ps 68:19).
(speaking of those planted in the house of the Lord:  “They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green…” (Ps. 92:14).
“For I bear Your name, Lord God Almighty.” (Jer. 15:16b).
When the Lord does the planting on the mountain heights:  “It will produce branches and bear fruit…” (Ez. 17:23).
“Your people bear Your name” (Dan. 9:19b)
“Every good tree bears good fruit” (Matt. 7:17a).
“And so you will bear testimony to Me.  But make up your mind not to worry beforehand…” (Luke 21: 13 & 14b).
“If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit” (Jo 15:5b).

There are many more, but let me leave you with this last one from John 15:8a, “This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit.”

I pray you are blessed knowing that the Lord faces the enemy face on!  He bears the battle for us when we stay in His protective guard rails.  Amen.

Please continue to pray for the upcoming PTH conference in Ketchikan, Alaska.  (Sept. 25-27, 2014).  The theme of the conference is “The Sound of the Lord … Listen.”  God has something specific in store for Ketchikan!  The theme may be the same, but His Sound never returns void; It is alive and active.

Blessings to all,

Sincerely,
Sarah Tarter,
PTH Facilitator

A Timely Word

As I’ve been praying for PTH, I feel God has been impressing on me or reminding me of our identity and position in Him.  I was getting out of my car at a business and spotted a penny that was spattered with mud and had probably been run over numerous times.  Even where it was laying, bits of it that were not covered in mud caught the sunlight and shone brilliantly.  I immediately thought about being in this world but not of it.  The world may splatter or rub off on us at times but there is no denying what we are made of – whose we are and our purpose to reflect His glory in every circumstance.

Why a penny?  That spoke to me of many things.  For one, it was heads up showing the image of Lincoln — representing our true position of freedom, a path that those before us helped to forge.  Secondly, we can sometimes feel insignificant as a unit of one but even the greatest value we can think of is made up of “ones” – unity is the key.  Whatever we do or claim for Christ resounds in the body worldwide.  Lastly, a penny is made of copper – one of the most effective conductors of energy.  We are called not only to receive His glory… His fullness…but to release and demonstrate His power.  Our connection with the “current” = continuity of the availability of Gods resources to perform…to demonstrate His will and power.  Through the open door of Jesus in us, God’s Holy Spirit fills creation.  We need a deeper understanding of the “opening” of Jesus and and what that gives us access to.

A simple concept, really, but I think we sometimes need to be reminded.

Prayer for Rose Stransky

Dear PTH Intercessors,

We are asking for prayer for our friend, Rose Stransky.  She has been dealing with a debilitating
disease that has been very difficult.
But now she is in the hospital.
Doctors say she has had a stroke.
Her mind is clear but she is having difficulty with mobility and speech.

Rose is our Assistant Director for Georgia and works very
hard to help make the ministry work in that area.

Please pray for healing, comfort, peace, and strength for
Rose and her loved ones.  Also pray for
wisdom for the medical staff.

Thank you for your faithfulness as we all work together to
further the Kingdom of God.

Blessings,

Debbie Grimes

URGENT Prayer for Sarah

This is an urgent prayer request for Sarah Tarter.  She is currently in New York City for more surgery on her neck and hand.  What was expected to last a few hours is now going to be 7-10 hours of surgery due to a change that had to be made.  She went into surgery at 9 AM Eastern time and won’t be out until 6 PM or so.  This has gone from a standard surgery to a critical one.

Please be praying!

That all goes well in the surgery.

Wisdom and guidance for the doctor.

No infection

Good recovery.

And for Sarah’s husband, Mitch, who is with her until the end of the week when he must return.

Nancy will be going down to New York at the end of this week to be with Sarah until their expected return on 12/22.

This specialist is the only one in the world who does this particular surgery to take care of some of the scar tissue and contractions she is suffering from that are affecting her ear drum, breathing, swallowing, and use of her right hand.

Thank you for joining us in prayer for our beloved sister, Sarah.
